Wow, it’s been a minute, hasn’t it?

I know I’ve been a bit quiet on here lately, and honestly, it’s because life has been a lot recently — both physically and emotionally. London weather has been doing the absolute most, and not in a cute way. One day it's freezing cold and I’m bundled up like I’m preparing for an Arctic expedition, and the next day it's 17 degrees, the sun’s out, and people are walking around in t-shirts like we’ve skipped straight to summer. My body has not been coping well with the whiplash — I’ve been feeling run-down, getting every sniffle and sore throat going. Seriously, I think my immune system is about two steps away from sending me a resignation letter.

And emotionally? Yeah, it's been a bit rough too. You know when you’re just… drained? Like your energy levels are running on fumes, and even the idea of opening your laptop feels like too much effort? That’s been me. I’ve been in this weird limbo of wanting to do things but not quite having the energy to follow through. But hey, it hasn’t stopped me from reading — if anything, curling up with my Kindle has been my saving grace through it all.

That said, my reading life looks a bit different these days. Normally, I’d be devouring books on the tube during my commute, squeezing in a few chapters between stops and hoping I don’t miss mine (which, let’s be honest, has happened more times than I’d like to admit). But lately, it’s been less about the frantic commute reading and more about slowing down. I’ve been reading bundled up in blankets on my sofa, tucked away from the unpredictable weather with one of my girly little drinks in hand — either a chilled CBD drink from Trip to help me relax (because let’s be real, I need all the help I can get right now), or my personal speciality: a boujee ice-cold Coke with ice and lemon. There’s just something about the fizz, the lemon, the clink of ice — it’s giving main character energy, okay?

And honestly? I think it’s been good for me. Slowing down, reading for the pure comfort of it rather than just to fill time, has reminded me why I love books so much in the first place. I’ve made my way through five books recently, and let’s just say… it’s been a mixed bag. Some gems, some duds, and one that had me questioning all my life choices (in the best way). I’m working on a new post where I’ll be rating and reviewing the last five books I’ve read on my Kindle — including some spicy takes you won’t want to miss.

So yeah, I’m still here — just moving a bit slower than usual. If you’ve also been feeling the seasonal struggle, know that you’re not alone. We’ll get through this, one cozy reading session at a time.

Stay tuned for the reviews — and if you’ve read anything amazing (or terrible) lately, drop me a comment! I’m always down for book chat.
